Daryl Hannah, actress and executive producer for the documentary “Greedy Lying Bastards,” describes how she’s minimized her carbon footprint for the last 20 years and how others can do it too — starting with switching to alcohol fuel for cars. Hannah says, “It’s a very simple, inexpensve thing to shift us away from this toxic product of petroleum, which — literally — muder and mayhem has gone on across the word to get a hold of this product.”
Darryl Hannah and director Craig Rosebraugh join Cenk to introduce their new documentary, “Greedy Lying Bastards,” which exposes the corporate interests behind denying climate change. Hannah says, “When profit is an unfortunate motivator for all of these entities, they have to keep reporting quarterly profits. That’s just an unhealthy system. We need a paradigm shift.” Rosebraugh says, “There’s a concerted, crafty campaign waged by the oil industry to ensure that, not only is the public left in the dark and confused as to whether climate change exists, but more importantly — as a result — politicians are doing nothing on the issue.”
